Art drive

An incredible group of individuals (Ali Nelson, Bhaavya Manikonda, Ellie Gerner, Emme Camp, Esha Modi, Mohammed Khan, Sarah Wirsing, and others) led by our very own Mehek Taneja, held an art drive to collect pieces to donate to local memory care and assisted living homes. The purpose of this project was to uplift the spirits of senior citizens in the Naperville community, where these seniors are restricted to only have essential visitors. This group of teens noticed this issue and came up with a plan: to collect thoughtful, heartfelt pieces of art that could remind our senior citizens of how much their community cares for them.

Mental health is something that needs to be valued more, and this project was a wonderful way to help encourage mental wellbeing amongst one of the most isolated age groups during the pandemic. Over the course of a few months, these high school students created and collected over 150 pieces of art in total, making it possible for them to donate to two locations of Sunrise Senior Living.
